Thermador dealer, service network or independent shop
The Thermador dealer locator lists stores approved to sell new appliances; repairs go to the brand service network or an independent shop, chosen by warranty.
Thermador’s dealer locator shows which stores in your area are listed as dealers, and that listing means one thing: the store is approved to sell new Thermador appliances. It says nothing about who should repair the oven you already own. Repairs go either through Thermador’s own service network or to an independent technician you pick yourself, and the sensible choice depends mostly on how old the appliance is. Before you book anyone, check the warranty clock, find the rating plate, and know which answers on the phone should end the call.
What the dealer label covers, and what it leaves out
A dealer handles the sale: the showroom visit, the order, and the delivery date that later starts your warranty. None of that makes the store, or a technician it happens to recommend, the right party to fix a dead bake element three years on.
Thermador’s range warranty statement is plain about the worry most owners have. Hiring a repair shop outside Thermador’s network, or fitting third-party parts, does not by itself void the coverage. The catch sits in the next line: if that outside work causes damage, Thermador accepts no responsibility for it. So the sign over the showroom matters far less than two practical questions. Is the appliance still covered, and does the person coming into your kitchen know what they are doing?
Start with the warranty clock
Thermador lists a 2-year limited warranty on the entire appliance, parts and labor, across its ranges, ovens, cooktops and rangetops, hoods, refrigeration and wine storage, and dishwashers. The Pro Grand and Pro Harmony range guide counts that period as 730 days from the date of original delivery, while cosmetic flaws such as scratched stainless, porcelain blemishes, chips and dents get only 60 days. If you bought a house with the kitchen already in it, say one of the older built-in kitchens in Eagle Harbor, the clock started with the first owner’s delivery rather than your closing date.
Built-in refrigerators carry extra cover on the sealed system: compressor, evaporator, condenser, dryer/strainer and the connecting tubing. Parts and labor run from the 3rd through the 6th year, parts alone from the 7th through the 12th, and stainless rust-through has lifetime parts-only cover. A refrigeration column that quits cooling in year five is a call to Thermador first, whoever you normally use.
Inside any of those windows, begin with Thermador customer service. Outside them the choice is entirely yours, and the questions below apply to any shop you ring.
Find the rating plate before you phone
Every useful call begins with the model number. A Pro Grand or Pro Harmony range carries the E-Nr. (model number) and FD (production number) on a rating plate that, model by model, sits either over the main oven or behind the kick plate. Photograph it once and keep the picture. A technician who asks for the E-Nr. and FD before naming a part is checking that it fits; one who never asks is guessing.
Questions worth asking on the first call
- What does the diagnostic visit cost? Ours is $80; anywhere else, get the figure before a van leaves the yard.
- Will the price come as a typical range first, then a firm number after diagnosis? A control board or touch panel, for instance, usually lands at $440–$1,050, with the exact figure set once the fault is measured.
- Will the parts be genuine OEM, ordered against your E-Nr. and FD rather than a guess at the series?
- On a gas range running propane, who did the conversion? Thermador ranges ship set up for natural gas, a qualified technician has to convert them, and the tank needs its own high-pressure regulator on top of the one packed with the range.
Red flags worth hanging up over
Be wary of anyone who says an independent repair cancels your warranty outright; the range warranty statement says the opposite. Be just as wary of a firm board price quoted over the phone before a meter has touched the appliance, because a failed sensor or a loose connector can look exactly like a dead board. If a caller says they belong to Thermador’s service network, confirm that with Thermador directly; a genuine member will not mind you checking. And a technician who pushes a new refrigerator before anyone has looked at the sealed-system dates may be steering you past years of coverage you already paid for.
Where this shop stands
This site is run by an independent shop on Fleming Island that is not part of Thermador’s service network. Out of warranty, that changes little in practice: the diagnosis, the OEM part and the quote work the same way. Inside the windows above, call Thermador first, and keep our number for whatever falls outside them.
What does this cost to put right?
The visit is $80. Beyond that, the honest answer is a band and not a number, because the same symptom has two or three candidate causes and they do not cost the same. The bands that fit this page are below. Parts and labour together, the work on this sheet lands between $440 and $2,360. The exact number is set down in writing once the fault has been read, and nothing is ordered until you have seen it.
| Repair | Parts and labour |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic visit, credited to the repair | $80 |
| Refrigeration column sealed system | $900–$2,360 |
| Control board or touch panel | $440–$1,050 |
