One figure on the phone, the same figure at the door
Every number on this page is what you will be quoted before we drive. There is no separate trip charge, no fuel surcharge, and no after-hours rate — because there are no after hours.
The diagnostic visit
The visit is $80, flat, for any single appliance at one address. It covers the drive, the time on site, and the diagnosis itself — pulling the unit where that is needed, reading the fault state, and testing rather than guessing.
Flat-rate diagnostic visit, credited in full toward the repair if you go ahead with the work.
A second appliance looked at on the same visit is quoted at the door before we open it, not added to the bill afterwards.
What does each repair actually run?
The table below is the whole book: researched parts-and-labour bands for this equipment in this market, and the band a symptom lands in is settled at the door rather than on the phone. Everything on it is credited against by the diagnostic you have already paid.
Is the repair worth it at all?
That is a different question from what a repair costs, and it has its own sheet. The repair-or-replace working sets the bands below against what a comparable new appliance costs, does the fifty-percent arithmetic in the open, and says plainly where the repair stops being the cheaper side.
The written estimate
A written estimate comes before any part is ordered or any repair begins. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
The estimate separates the part from the labour, so you can see which half of the number you are paying. It holds for thirty days. If the part turns out to be discontinued — which happens on older platforms — we say so and tell you what the honest options are, including the option of not repairing it.
What we cannot quote over the phone
Nearly everything. A symptom description narrows the likely cause to two or three candidates, and those candidates can differ by several hundred dollars in parts. Anyone quoting a repair price sight-unseen is quoting the expensive candidate and hoping for the cheap one.
What we can do on the phone is tell you the diagnostic fee, confirm the appliance is a Thermador and inside our radius, and take the model number so the likely part rides along.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work, not in advance. We do not take a deposit for a diagnostic visit. Parts ordered against an approved estimate are the one exception, and that is stated on the estimate itself.
Warranty
90 days on labor, 365 days on parts, on every repair we complete. Genuine OEM parts only. The full terms, including what is excluded, are on the warranty page.
Hours
Scheduled appointments only. We do not run an overnight or emergency call-out service.
Scope
We service Thermador appliances and nothing else. We are an independent company and hold no manufacturer authorization. See the work index for the six appliance families we take on, the questions page for the rest, and the terms of service for the contractual detail.
What does every repair band cost?
The visit is $80. Beyond that, the honest answer is a band and not a number, because the same symptom has two or three candidate causes and they do not cost the same. The whole book is below. Parts and labour together, the work on this sheet lands between $180 and $2,360. The exact number is set down in writing once the fault has been read, and nothing is ordered until you have seen it.
| Repair | Parts and labour |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic visit, credited to the repair | $80 |
| Igniter, spark module or surface element | $200–$530 |
| Oven thermostat or temperature sensor | $180–$540 |
| Bake or broil element | $200–$560 |
| Convection fan or motor | $270–$730 |
| Control board or touch panel | $440–$1,050 |
| Door hinge, glass or seal | $200–$660 |
| Refrigeration column sealed system | $900–$2,360 |
When is it cheaper to replace the appliance?
A comparable Thermador wall oven, rangetop or column, appliance only — before delivery, installation or cabinetry. National appliance pricing, not Florida labour.
| New appliance | Appliance only |
|---|---|
| Wall oven, the usual repair-or-replace comparison | $4,200–$9,500 |
| Professional rangetop or range | $5,500–$14,500 |
Set the band against that figure rather than against nothing. A control board on a cabinet that is otherwise sound is almost always the cheaper side of the comparison; a sealed system on a column already past twenty is the one worth thinking about.
Why is this published as a band?
- Why publish bands instead of a price?
- Because a symptom narrows the cause to two or three candidates and those candidates do not cost the same. A single number quoted sight-unseen is the expensive candidate with the cheap one hoped for. A band is something you can plan around; a blind quote is not.
- Where do these numbers come from?
- They are researched parts-and-labour ranges for this equipment in this market, kept in one generated file that the page, the estimate and the structured data all read. That is why the figure a search engine quotes and the figure on the screen are the same figure.
- Is the diagnostic fee really credited?
- Flat-rate diagnostic visit, credited in full toward the repair if you go ahead with the work. A second appliance looked at on the same visit is quoted at the door before it is opened, not added to the bill afterwards.
- When does replacing beat repairing?
- Set the band against the appliance. A comparable new unit is $4,200–$14,500, appliance only, before delivery or cabinetry. A board at $440–$1,050 on a sound cabinet is the cheaper side; a sealed system at $900–$2,360 on a twenty-year-old column is the conversation worth having.
- Do you charge by the hour?
- No. The visit is $80 flat and the repair is quoted as a parts-and-labour band, not as time on a clock. An hourly rate charges you for a slow diagnosis and rewards nobody for an experienced one. A band tells you what the job costs before it starts, which is the number you actually need.
- What does it cost to fix one burner, or one dead zone?
- An igniter, spark module or surface element is $200–$530, which is the usual answer when one burner is out and the rest of the surface works normally. An induction zone driven by its own coil board lands on the board band at $440–$1,050 instead. Which of the two it is gets settled at the door.
