Terms of service

These terms govern service work performed by Doctors Lake Kitchen Co. in Fleming Island, Clay County, Florida. They are written to be read, not to be survived. Where Florida consumer law gives you a right, nothing here removes it.

1. Who we are

Doctors Lake Kitchen Co. is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Thermador or its parent company. All brand names and model numbers are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the appliances we service.

We service Thermador appliances only. A request concerning any other manufacturer will be declined at the point of booking.

2. Booking a visit

A booking is confirmed when we give you a date and an arrival window. We ask for the model and serial number from the data plate so the likely part can travel with the technician; without it, the odds of a single-trip repair fall sharply.

Someone aged eighteen or over must be present at the address for the whole visit. Where the appliance is built in, the approach to it must be clear enough to pull the unit safely.

3. The diagnostic fee

Flat-rate diagnostic visit, credited in full toward the repair if you go ahead with the work.

The fee is earned once the technician has attended and diagnosed, whether or not you proceed with the repair. It is credited in full against the repair if you do. Full detail is on the pricing page.

4. Estimates and approval

A written estimate comes before any part is ordered or any repair begins. Nothing proceeds without your approval.

An estimate holds for thirty days. Where a fault is found to have a second, separate cause once the first is corrected, that is a new estimate and it goes to you before any further work.

5. Cancellation and access

Cancel or reschedule at no charge up to two hours before the arrival window opens. If the technician attends and cannot access the appliance — nobody home, the unit blocked in, an unsafe working area — the diagnostic fee is chargeable.

6. Parts

Parts fitted are genuine OEM, sourced through parts distribution. Where a part is discontinued, we will say so and set out the honest options, including not repairing the appliance. Parts you supply yourself carry no warranty from us.

7. Warranty

90 days on labor, 365 days on parts, on every repair we complete. Genuine OEM parts only. Exclusions, including surge and lightning damage, are set out in full on the warranty page and form part of these terms.

8. Payment

Payment is due on completion. We do not take a deposit for a diagnostic visit. Parts ordered against an approved estimate may be invoiced when ordered, and that is stated on the estimate itself.

9. Limits

Our liability for any single job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We are not liable for spoiled food, consequential loss, or loss arising from an appliance being out of service. Nothing in this clause limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

We do not undertake work on an appliance that has been modified, that has had a sealed system opened by someone else, or that is unsafe to energise.

10. Trademarks

Thermador is a registered trademark of BSH Home Appliances Corporation. Use of the name on this site is nominative — it identifies the appliances we repair and nothing more.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida, and the courts of Clay County, Florida have jurisdiction.
